A Nation on Its Knees

Uncategorized Jun 22, 2020

There’s an awesome song by TobyMac that highly represents the current state of this nation called “City On Our Knees”.

The chorus of the song sings:

“If you gotta start somewhere, why not here?

If you gotta start sometime, why not now?

If we gotta start somewhere, I say here.

If we gotta start sometime, I say now.”

The purpose of this song can be applied to our nation. I believe that we should view our nation as one, big, interconnected city. All of us have basic needs such as food, water, shelter, healthcare, and other needs. The chorus of this song is essentially the reason I decided to run for president of the United States. As your candidate for the presidential election, I am ready to answer this call to action that TobyMac sings about. I am ready to step up from being an everyday civilian to the leader of the free world! This is no small leap and I’m totally aware of this. Yet, I feel empowered to make the jump.

Just like you, I have grown weary of political warfare, mudslinging, disappointments, and small talk from our nation’s leaders. I’m tired of hoping that someone in office will change or follow through with promises, better the economy, or uplift the nation in times of grief. I’ve grown weary of hoping for change. I am ready to be the change that is desperately needed in this country. I have goals, aspirations, and dreams for America. It is not the fault of any of our leaders that our economy is dwindling. As a matter of fact, the entire world’s economy has been weakened. It is not anyone’s fault that there is a virus that has challenged and compromised every nation’s healthcare facility and public places of work. Uniquely to America, there is still a racial and discriminatory divide, but I will address this in a separate posting.

The current issues in our world and nation would frighten any leader, governor, mayor, senator, representative, or civilian. Though challenging, I’m not fearful. Instead, I have surrounded myself with the best teams, advocates, healthcare professionals, educators, and influencers to better understand how to go about fixing the issues that still trouble our great nation year after year. With the correct intel, consultancy, advice, reflection, and inspiration, I am preparing to lead this nation to be more equal, safe, fair, loving, and inclusive for everyone.

“If we gotta start somewhere, I say here.

If we gotta start sometime, I say now.”
